WIP Continued

Work In Progress ~ Original Painting ~ Artist Ron Byrum
What will appear in this Halloween scene?
Spooky Figures are appearing in the Castle.
Trick or Treaters are appearing outside the Castle.
Ron is taking his time with every detail he paints
It's so hard to show purple in photos, her dress is purple.
You can see the detail he painted in her dress, looks like damask.

And to show how small the details really are we show a comparison with a quarter (actual size).
The tiny details in the face and costumes are painted under a magnifying glass.

Stay tuned this one will be up for auction very soon.
It will also be the only one Ron paints in this size (11" by 14") this season.

Halloween Artist Wanted ~ New Halloween Art Group

We just recently learned that Deborah Sweigart has passed away after fighting a battle with cancer.  We are very saddened by this news.  Day was the inspiration for so many Halloween Artists who began their careers by selling on Ebay way back when Ebay was really an auction site.   She was the founder of HA31, an Ebay art group and ran HalloweenArtists.com for many years.  She selflessly gave to all of us her time, encouragement and the opportunity for our art to be seen by the public through Halloween Artists.com

We are also saddened to find that the website is now unavailable.  I don't know the details, if her family intends to put it back up or not but for now it seems it is just offline.  Day personally encouraged Ron and me and was a great inspiration in our continuing to produce our art and belong to this beloved Halloween Ebay Art Group.  We've met many Halloween Artists as a result of belong to the group, some of those members have become quite successful.  So it is in "Loving Memory" that we are considering starting another web site to be open to all of the Halloween Artists members to join together and continue Day's endeavor to have a group that supports, encourages and enjoy our love of Halloween!

Myself, Ron Byrum and Heather Millott of Witch Hollow Primitives have purchased the website HalloweenArtists.net   We are probably a little late this season to make much of an impact but as we all know Halloween Artists work on Halloween year round.  We will let anyone who is interested know when we have the site up and running.  In the meantime, if you are a Halloween Artist that was a member or even those who weren't, we would like to know how many Halloween Artists would be interested in joining our group.  If you are interested or have any comments you would like to share you can email me, Sherry Byrum at sunnybyrum@aol.com or Heather at witchhollowprims@sbcglobal.net

Byrum Art's Newest Items for their Halloween Collection for 2013 are avilable on Ebay now!

New Page 1
It's getting close to Fall with all the sights, sounds and smells of Fall and Halloween.  For us its time to be working overtime in our artist's workshop creating new designs, Ornaments and Decorative Items for our customers.  This has always been my favorite time of year.  Starts off with County Fairs, that first crisp, cool air blowing and the leaves starting their spectacular display of colors.   If you happen to see a Red Cardinal this time of year its likely it will look strange as they shed their old feathers and grow beautiful new red ones.  Candy apples, pumpkin pies, maple syrup, candles, and all the beautiful colors of chrysanthemums.   Also the little creatures are busily preparing for winter, chipmunks scampering about collecting nuts and sunflower seeds, and the deer are changing colors so they are camouflaged better.  We've had a Doe and her fawn visiting us for a month now and you can see in the photo below how she's starting to turn gray blending in with the woods and the fawn is still very much a brownish with spots.
So let me show you the beginning of our Halloween 2013 Season hand made and hand painted decorations we are offering this year.  Already listed on  Ebay, be sure and fly by and check some out.
All of these items are up for auction on Ebay right now!  Thanks for L@@king and we hope to see you on Ebay!

Ron's Faux Finishing Work Published in Local Magazine

Ron's faux finishing work has been published in a local magazine, "Avenues".  Every month the magazine features a local home that is exceptional in its decorating style.  This month one of Ron's customer's, John and April Walsh were chosen to grace the pages of the March issue.

Ron painted the entire house and coordinated with April to achieve the faux finishes she longed to see on her walls.  The results are some of Ron's best work.  He was also hired to finish the beautiful custom cabinets in the home and other unique, specialty features including a hand painted table built by John Walsh, finishes on architectural items, and everyone's been amazed at Ron's ability to match the hammered copper sink in detail, with paint and a little magic, the backsplash in the kitchen.

Valentine's Day

"The day's association with romantic love grew in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. By the 15th century, it had evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines").[1][3] Valentine's Day symbols that are used today include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards. " From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I still love hand made greeting cards.  They bring back memories of special cards made in elementary school and art class for special people in our life.  It also teaches children the reward from both giving and receiving to friends and family.  I have been interested in vintage images for years and admire the art of all the Post Card and Greeting Card artists of the 19th Century.

So in celebration of Valentine's Day this year we will be offering a few of our own hand made cards.  So check back to see what we dream up this month.

To start we are offering a card created from our art painting "I Put A Spell On You" embellished with Swarovski Rhinestones and little red tinsel two sided ornaments for your Valentine Tree or hang anywhere with a Valentine themed display.  Below are the first cards and ornaments we have offered up for bid on Ebay.  You can see them on Ebay here.

If you have a very special person in mind this year perhaps a Original Witchy Painting would make a special gift or treat yourself with our Original Painting also available on Ebay.

Be sure and bookmark us, we will be offering many hand made Valentine Cards and Ornaments throughout the month of January.
