Hauntingly Beautiful Nude Witch Painting
Artist Susie Pastor

The Renee Award

The Renee Award

Thank you Sarah!

To understand the story behind this beautiful award you just must visit Renee's Blog and Sarah's. Two of Renee's friends Ces and Bella created the Award for Renee! It is an honor for me to receive it knowing the story between these amazing women. To me it signifies how one of us touches one other person's heart and from the giving it is played forward many times over! To take the time to let someone they are special to you because they have touched your heart or inspired you to believe in yourself! To learn you are stronger then you ever imagined. I can so relate to Renee's story because I grew up with a Mother who had breast cancer. I have another family member who is fighting cancer right now! The strength, courage and will to live and live beautifully this person exhibits, not knowing what the future holds, is so inspiring to me that I can't find the words to express my awe of their beautiful soul! So Renee, if you should see this at some time my hat is off to you! You are an inspiration to all of us!

The first ones that came to mind I would want to pass this on to are:

Heather who has become a very dear friend and I hope we inspire each other!

Ron Byrum who is an amazing artist and an inspiration to anyone who knows him!

Slideshow of Ron's Faux Finishing and Murals

Ron is also somewhat of a local celebrity. We live in a small
tourist town and Ron's art graces the sign in and out of the
town of Mammoth Spring. He has worked in some of the
finest homes in the area. The slideshow is a sampling of
some of his Faux Finishes on walls, Custom Cabinet building,
lacquer finishing, and murals. He uses a lot of washes and
mixes all of his own paint formulas. We hope you enjoy
visiting some of the homes and places he has graced with his
talent!

More Awards ~ For Me??

I was had tears come to my eyes when I saw Sarah's entry about this award - The Noblesse Award. Thank you for passing it to me Sarah!! You brighten my world both online and in my house when I look at all your art!

I’m to write about what this blog has thus far achieved. Like Sarah I had to think about this for a little bit. So I took my furry friend Daisy for a ride to the Park and just thought about all the amazing women I have met online as a result of belonging to art groups and having this blog. Initially my blog was to promote Byrum Art, my art and my husband's Ron, but it has become so much more. It has become a place where I found wonderful, positive, courageous women who share their thoughts, dreams and lifes with whomever cares to take the time and read. I have learned so much from all the lovely ladies I have met here. I grew up with brothers and had two sons and didn't really know a lot about women so this has been a joy to me to have friends to share my dreams, hopes and disappointments. I hope that I
inspire other artists, crafters or writers for talent is such an illusive word. We all have talents and discovering what they are is what brings so much joy; to ourselves and to those around us. To those whom I've been blessed to discuss some very personal things I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your friendship! It means more to me then I can ever express in words! Thank you for just being you and I hope we all keep growing together, inspiring each and supporting each other!

Inspiration is All Around Us

I have been reading the book "The Nine Modern Day Muses" 10 Guides to Creative Inspiration for Artists, Poets, Lovers and other mortals wanting to live a dazzling existence. The book is written by Jill Baldwin Badonsky On page 37 of her book she writes:

"If we pay attention to the present moment we will discover that inspiration is not
elusive nor out of reach. There is already an unfathomable amount of inspiration right in front of us. Creative electricity is everywhere and when we connect to the voltage of our awareness anything in our environment can become a conductor of new ideas. Everything from the way the grass blows, to the music of a child's laughter can become the art of our lives and the substance of artistic expression."

So at the end of this gorgeous day I captured some magical moments from the world in my backyard for my visual diary.

The sun is setting and the evening air is cool and dry. The honeysuckle has thrived in the wet weather that has occurred this May.

How heavenly it smells as the breeze carries the fragrance across the yard. I took some shots of my favorite flowers,

my furry friend Daisy playing peek a boo

and Ron mowing the grass.

Daisy has played so hard, having a ball with us in the back yard she decides to take a nap while I go through the mail.

Going through the mail I discover my ACEO I bought from Tammy of Light and Shawdow Studio has arrived. A gorgeous wolf with a Witch flying across a yellow moon. The photo does not do it justice. The perfect end to a wonderful day!
