What a great way to start the day!!!

This one came from Jeanne of The Candy Corn Chronicles

The Bella Sinclair Award is for friendship, sisterhood, sharing and caring! Thank you Jeanne!

Now I am to pass this wonderful award to five other wonderful bloggers...

1. Sarah of Cottage Garden Studios
2. Heather of Witch Hollow Primitives
3. Cat of Electic Season Primitives
4.Chris of Prim Country Farms
5.Cindy of Shabby Hag Decor

I updated this because I just read this on Sarah's page! This award was created by Bella's dear friend Ces. This is so special it must accompany the award in my opinoin.

In Ces's words..."I designed this award to celebrate art in the blogs and to honor the value of friendship, sisterhood, sharing and caring. It is to be awarded to the gifted, accomplished, eloquent and talented blogger whose friendship and influence inspire us to do our best. That I named it after Bella Sinclair is because she epitomizes all of these things. She is an inspiration to many of us."

Another Award!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!

The Domestic Witch Award

I love what she says on her page "Weaving magic into domestic life."

That is what I try to do and have for as long as I can remember! I always felt there was something magickal about a single flower in a vase, a candle lit, christmas lights, bows on a pretty package, the simple little things like a butterfly flying by, the first daffodil in the spring. There is Magick all around us all the time! Why not make our life's a little magickal? Nature is our greatest teacher.

So...when I finally opened my eyes and saw Sarah had given me this award day ago I was delighted to find this "Domestic Witch". Her blog is wonderful so be sure and check it out. I love this award!! Thank you Sarah!!!

It is for Achievement in Magical Housecrafting

The rules are simple enough~

Carnival Comes To Town

Carnival Comes To Town

Ahhhh the wonderful smell of cotton candy, popcorn popping, a cool breeze and the sound of children laughing, screaming, screeching, running, playing. Carnival Workers shouting "3 Balls for $1.00", "Win the lovely lady a prize". The colored lights are amazing as the rides go round, up and down, sideways and upside down, children squealing in delight! Everyone loves the Carnival! Ours comes to town once a year when we have our Annual Civil War Re-enactment! Set up on the ground around our beautiful Spring that flow nine million gallons of fresh spring water an hour forming a 10 acre lake! The best event all summer!! We headed out Friday Night for the rides and to see all our neighbors and business owners in
our little Tourist Town. Mammoth Spring, Arkansas

Wishcasting Wednesday

Wish Casting Wednesday

This week Jamie asks us to answer the question "What door do you wish to open" I really enjoyed reading Sarah''s response to the question! Most of the time I feel more like a little girl traveling through this world afraid of what might be behind the curtain this time. My life has been a journey of disappointments and triumphs and everything in between. I wish with all my heart to open the door to being strong enough to turn into a wise woman who is capable of forgiveness, compassion and love. One who does not react out of fear. Fear has been my constant companion since I realized life included pain and loss and disappointment. I would like to open the door to a different view of life, one of magickal healing and the wonder an innocent child has. To let go of the past and live in the present and let the future take care of itself! To learn from the wonderful women I have met online who have taught me I am not alone, there are many of us traveling this path called life. We can help each other by extending our hand of friendship and offering up prayers and sending energy to each other. And yes Sarah when necessary we can be warriors, we already are or we wouldn't have made it so far.

Love

I think as artists our feelings sometimes can't be put in words but instead through a brush we paint our thoughts, our inner most feelings. This painting has always spoke to me of devotion and unconditional love. The innocence of the little colt Unicorn and the trust it has put in the fairy. I watched a movie this week end called "The Colt". It was a Hallmark movie about a Civil War soldier and his experiences after to his surprise the Mare he rode gave birth to a colt. He was totally surprised and his commanding officer ordered him to kill the colt because it would be a distraction. Long story short the soldier could not kill the little colt and neither could his commanding officer so they made him their mascot. All through the movie I just knew they were going to kill the colt. I sat on the edge of my seat every time the colt was in danger. In the end the colt gets hung up on a rock by his lead in a fast moving stream. His owner immediately drops his gun and risks his own life to save the colt. The enemy on the other side sees the colt struggling to keep his head above water and to the amazement of all the soldiers involved drop his weapon and helps the other soldier save the colt. All is well, the colt has caused emotion that no one expected, proving the soldiers were capable of love. Just as I was about to be content with the ending a lone shooter shots and kills the colt's owner. The movie ends with the soldier lying on the ground and the colt and Mare standing above him and I cried like a baby. It effected me so profoundly I was surprised. Ron told me "Sherry its just a movie, its not real." I was angry the movie ended in this manner so I've thought all week end what was the writer trying to express, why did he end it like that? The only thing I can come up with is that the Soldier had accomplished something unheard of by his devotion to the little colt and love had overcome, just for a moment, love had won. I like to believe that it is possible to have a world where love always wins.

Wishcasting Wednesday

Wishcasting Wednesday

*What Do You Wish To Make Room For? is the Wish Prompt given by Jamie Ridler.

For me my first reaction to this question was more time with my family, I live in Arkansas and they live in Texas approximately 550 miles from me. I do not see them enough! I wish it was possible for me to see them more. I have three lovely granddaughters and I know I am missing out watching them grow, play and on a lot of joy. I wish with all my heart in the future it is possible for
me to see them more often!
