Wishcasting Wednesday

Wishcasting Wednesday

This is the first blog entry I have written using the Wishcasting Wednesday theme. Jamie challenges us to use our imagination to answer the question What do you wish to invite in? Ron and I have been using our imagination for the past nine years to create a life that makes us both happy. This lifestyle that we have developed is unique and unusual. We left our city life and headed to the hills of Arkansas and attempted to make a living selling our art on Ebay. We have been selling on Ebay ten years this summer. We started in 1999 and moved to our present location in 2000. We bought an 100 year old house and have slowly been remodeling it and adding to our gardens on our three lots. We are backed up to wooded, undeveloped property so we have a great deal of privacy in the back of our yard and it is not unusual for us to see rabbits, deer and even an occasional fox. We had a dream, we believed and some of it has come true. It has not always been easy, sometimes dreams require a lot of energy in the form of physical activity, self motivation and willingness to learn and change. We have seen some of our goals reached. Our biggest wish is to one day have an art gallery so we would like to invite the possibility of this becoming a reality and an association with people who might help us realize our dreams as we help them realize theirs. A trade of skills so to speak! At the moment a very hairy caterpillar is crawling across my computer screen (I have no idea where he came from but I suspect from the fresh flowers I cut and brought
in yesterday) and he has assured me that yes, even this dream can come true! Here's to all of your wishes and dreams come true!

Butterfly begins it's life as a caterpillar, and while in this stage, sheds it's skin often to accommodate it's growing
size. The shedding of the skin is a powerful symbol of metamorphis - change on many different levels and transformation
into something better and more fitting. After a period of weeks, the caterpillar spins a cocoon of silk from it's own
body around itself and becomes a pupa. The time spent inside the cocoon is when the caterpillar transforms into the
butterfly, then it frees itself and flies away.

As you can see, there couldn't be a better description or symbol of change for the better than the life of the butterfly.
The caterpillar prepares for it's journey of change by eating much of the plant it lives on, stocking up as it grows
and grows, getting ready. Then, after it is inside it's cocoon, it rests as the changes take place, finally flying free
as the beautiful winged creature we call the butterfly.
For those with butterfly or caterpillar as their totem, there is much to be learned by studying this process and perhaps
meditating on it. Where are you at in your life right now? Are you still a caterpillar, or are you beginning to emerge?
Is this a time of preparation or rest?

May ALL your wishes come true :)

I'm off to write my post today :)

Sherry,
As this Dear One wishes for herself, so I lovingly and with intention wish for her also! Glad to see you've joined us for Wishcasting Wednesday.

You'll find that you have difficulty keeping up with the wishcasting posts because there can be so many of us holding hands and supporting the wishers...

As to your question today? Some of my sunflowers do a righteous job supporting themselves; some need to be staked. I try to remember which ones were the most sturdy and those are the ones I plant.

Sherry, your work is charming and magickal...most likely just like you!

Bright Blessings,
Holly
